Dutchess County officials have joined in partnership with the Afya Foundation to host a humanitarian supply collection beginning on Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the former JC Penney's location at the Poughkeepsie Galleria.
The site is open to the public with no appointment necessary.
Only new, unopened, and non-expired goods will be accepted. Items needed include:
- Flashlights and batteries;
- Baby and adult diapers;
- First aid kits;
- Face masks;
- Hand sanitizer;
- Personal hygiene kits including soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, razors, and shaving cream;
- Basic health supplies such as aspirin, cough medicine, Ace bandages, oxymeters, and more.
In addition, starting Friday, March 11, the four Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Dutchess County will provide donation boxes from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. through Friday, March 18 for those interested in contributing to this cause.
Those locations are:
- Poughkeepsie DMV, 22 Market St., Poughkeepsie;
- Beacon DMV, 223 Main St., Beacon;
- Millbrook DMV, 15 Merritt Ave., Millbrook;
- Wappinger DMV, 29 Marshall Road, Hollowbrook Park #3.
